🥳 2024 Year in Review: Lakeville's Prosperous Growth

Lakeville saw significant growth in 2024, with a total building permit valuation of $257.78 million, marking a year of dynamic development.

The Metropolitan Council's 2023 population estimate of 75,217 reflects Lakeville's prominence as Dakota County's largest city, ranking 7th in the metro area and 9th in the state.

The private sector invested $57.5 million in new commercial and industrial park developments, with the RL Cold cold storage facility leading the way with a $32 million valuation.

Lakeville issued 285 single-family permits, 149 townhome permits, and 1 apartment permit for a new 89-unit Estoria Cooperative, collectively valued at $155.84 million.

This mix of housing types aligns with Lakeville’s goal of offering a range of options for individuals at every stage of life.

The Residential Rental Registration program, introduced in late 2023, is in full effect with over 650 properties now registered.

As we get settled into the new year, the City of Lakeville is launching the Business Retention & Expansion (BRE) program and partnering with the Lakeville Chamber of Commerce on the Leadership Lakeville program.

🚗 Winter Parking Ordinance Now in Effect

As winter settles in, Lakeville's Winter Parking Ordinance is being strictly enforced to ensure safe and efficient snow removal. Here's what you need to know:

  • No overnight street parking between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m., even when there's no snow.

  • No on-street parking during snowfall until the roads have been completely cleared.

Avoid fines or towing by following these rules and keeping our streets accessible for plows and emergency vehicles.

For more details, visit Lakeville’s City Website or contact the city for questions about parking restrictions.
